Typical Swiss expressions

Almost three quarter of the Swiss population is German-speaking. The spoken language is a dialect of German, which differs highly in the pronunciation, but little in the lexica of standard German. The written language whereas is standard German. The written language knows many expressions and phrases which highly differ from the standard German though. They are being used in official documents, in formal business transactions and formal correspondence as well as in the official language use.
